Art Forster opened the doors to Forster’s Framing in 1974 as an extension of his photography business. As a graduate of The Rochester Institute of Technology in graphic arts and science, photography was his first love. And, as an artist himself, Art knew the importance of selecting the proper framing and matting to effectively showcase his art work. He applied that same understanding and care in selection to the pieces brought in by his many customers and, as a result of the museum-quality caliber of his work, the custom framing business took on a life of its own. Photography became a hobby.
Over the years, Forster’s has professionally showcased everything from a child’s first painting to Craig Breedlove’s racing suit worn when he set the land speed record in 1963. Art was also selected to frame priceless and irresplaceable items from American History groups such as The Civil War Library and Museum, First Infantry Museum and The First Troop Philadelphia City Cavalry.
At Forster’s, we are professional framers, not talented amateurs
